Welcome to my motion graphics and animation showcase, this page contains a series of lose animation videos I created which are not part of a project. Use the buttons below to jump to the desired section
As a part of my course in animation I was challenged to make an explainer video about any topic to test my 2d and 3d animation skills. I take a lot of intrest in astrology so the video was quickly born.
The animation was created from scratch. I wrote the script, did the storyboard and used text to speech for the voice-over. I made the 3D elements in blender and used illustrator for the 2D assets.
Partnered with beginning musicians and beginning animators, Intrada was made based off of the music piece by Tonny Eck. Three student animators - including myself- wrote down the story of a little boy exploring his own fantasy world. The animation uses the music as a guideline for timing.
This three part animation was done by Marissa, Esmeralda and myself. The 2D animation was my contribution to this project. Also the communication with the client was my task during the project. It took 1 month to complete.
As a first practice with animation principles, we were assigned to animate an embarrassing moment in our lives using adobe after effects. Since I already had some experience with after effects I decided to try out new tools like the bend and puppet tool to animate characters. I focussed mainly on the timing and expression to get the story across than the animation quality.
Before I started the animation I made a small story board in Clip Studio Paint to get the main frames and composition of the animation right. After that I illustrated all the components in Illustrator and made the animation using adobe after effects. The pictures below show an example of the story board
In my gap year I decided to work on my 2D cell animation skills and thought of a music video concept for Halsey's Control. The story is about a character struggling with mental health and tries fighting inner demons. For this project I worked out a first basic storyboard to get the story across, I also designed some characters that would fit in this world.
I made the story based on my interpretation of the Halsey song. I wrote down a script and made the story board. All characters and assets I made using Clip studio Paint.
The Hallo Vriend animation shows how Hallo Vriend works by telling a story about characters that have their own lives but stay connected through Hallo Vriend. Hallo Vriend sends volunteers questions and tasks they can volunteer for, but bases them off of their interests.
I was the illustrator and animator during this project
Goeie Kaarten is a visualization (literally) of a poem called Goeie Kaarten. The poem is about what happens to you when you die after you have lived a 'good' life. The animation was made with Clip Studio Paint and after effects. The animation needed to include 3D layers. I used my own illustration style to visualize the poem in animation. The animation was made in two weeks.
Goeie Kaarten was my first animation in after effects. All assets were made in Clip studio paint in my own drawing style. The voice over was done by Stan Stuivenberg.
In the video below I show a visualization of data of the fires in Australia. The data-visualization is supposed to be an interactive visualization. The artstyle that is used in the video is inspired by Thomas Rohlfs. I needed a style to experiment frame by frame animation with. The Video was animated in two weeks.
My role during this project was the role of illustrator and animator. All assets were drawn and animated by myself.

DawnFord is a flash game I made in the first year of my study at HAN university of applied sciences, where I studied Communication and Multimedia design. The assignment was to make a point and click type of game to explore and practice frame by frame animation and coding in adobe animate. The concept of my game was an apocalypse world with zombies where the player needed to hunt to survive.
The illustrations and backgrounds for the game are digitally drawn in Clip Studio paint. The animation is the intro of a point and click game I made in adobe animate (flash).
